General Pre-Transport Instructions:

Batten down the hatches!  As obvious as it seems, the simplest precautions are often overlooked as you prepare to transport your boat.  From securing cabinets and the loose items within, to stowing away deck items and checking electronics, a few easy preparations will help ensure a pleasant boat transporting experience.

  • Remove or secure all loose items.
  • Remove personal effects.
  • Remove electronics and valuables or secure below if traveling.
  • Remove and secure antennas, bimini tops, canvas.
  • Removable windshields should be secured below.
  • Lock windows, cabinets and hatches or secure with tape.
  • Secure and disconnect all batteries.
  • Fuel tank level must be less than 1/4.
  • Remove drain plug and winterize your boat if necessary.
  • Verify height measurements (keel to highest non-removable part)

       Special Sailboat Pre-Transport Instructions:

  • Unstep the mast and remove all wires, antennas, spreaders, winches and wires.
  • Remove standing rigging, turnbuckles, masthead and bow lights.
  • Do not secure the mast to the boat. We will secure it to the trailer instead.
  • Cradles should be in good condition and properly fit the hull contour. The boat must also be properly secured to the cradle.
  • Remove stanchions, life lines, bow pulpits and stern pulpits if they cause an overheight condition.
